Vancouver's Douglas Udell Gallery, near Lattimer Gallery, is displaying an innovative show featuring the work of Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas. The majority of the works on display are pencil and watercolour drawings, and several of these are the originals that were used for Amanda Reid-Stevens' new book 'The Canoe He Called Loo Taas'. This children's book tells the story of how and why Bill Reid's famous canoe was created in 1986, and Michael's illustrations imbue the story with a sense of dynamism and mythology. The book is available from Lattimer Gallery. This exhibition, titled 'Solo', runs from March 20 to April 3, 2010.
