Summer 2013 Newsletter


Featured in our Summer 2013 Newsletter are painters and brothers: Rod Smith and Steve Smith (Kwakwaka'wakw) whose uniquely painted sculptural pieces will be on display for our upcoming exhibition Collaboration and Contrast (June 22-July 20). A reception will be held on Saturday, June 22nd from 4pm-7pm to celebrate the opening and National Aboriginal Day

Also featured this issue are the many diverse panels of cedar and glass by artists Dean Hunt (Heiltsuk), Alano Edzerza (Tahltan) and Clinton Work (Kwakwaka'wakw), fluorescent graffiti-inspired paintings by Andrew Dexel (Salish) and a dramatic Potlatch Puppet by the late Art Thompson (Nuu-chah-nulth). 

Other notables include summer-inspired items like our bright and fun sunglasses, flip-flops and picnic blankets, all available online at northwestcoastgifts.com.

Spring 2013 Newsletter


Our Spring 2013 Newsletter is now available online and in the gallery. Featured this season is Kwakwaka'wakw artist Richard Sumner, who is well-known for his beautifully made bentwood boxes. We also have new works by young Haida artists Jing (Rob Long) and Sgwaayaans (TJ Young), who are both apprenticing with renowned Haida artist Robert Davidson. Lastly, we are excited to announce a show featuring collaborative and individual pieces by Kwakwaka'wakw artists and brothers, Rod and Steve Smith. A reception will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 4pm-7pm to celebrate the opening and National Aboriginal Day- save the date!
