Almost every year, at least one of the many talented artists that we represent create something special for Valentine's Day. One year, we had a sterling silver 'Salmon' pendant by Gitksan artist John Alexander in the shape of a heart. This year, friend of the gallery Kelvin Thompson has created an extremely detailed and heartwarming cuff bracelet with a 'Peace Doves' design. Measuring 3/4" x 6" and oxidized in order to give the bracelet with an antiqued look, this unique piece alludes to early coin bracelets depicting Victorian motifs. While floral patterns and nineteenth-century curlicues may look modern and even abstract by today's standards, these types of designs were actually among the first when considering Northwest Coast engraved bracelets for sale in the market.
