Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Grad Show

Lattimer Gallery will be hosting the Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Program graduation show, beginning May 15, 2010. For the past two years, Lattimer Gallery has hosted this event which highlights the first creations by grads of this introductory course in design and jewellery-making, taught by Kwakwaka’wakw/ Haida artist, Dan Wallace. This accredited program receives funding through ACCESS British Columbia, and Lattimer Gallery is honoured to host the graduation show once again.

This current display will feature the work of
seventeen students: Jon Anthony (Ojibway), Mark Antony (Mi’kmaq/Algonquin), Charles August (Coast Salish), Bil Ens (Haida), John Hill (Tsimshian), Randy Jack (Coast Salish), Donald Joe Mathias (Coast Salish), Mervin Peers (Heiltsuk), Kelly Robinson (Nuxalk), George Stokes (Coast Salish), Rosalie Temple (Nisga’a), William Wadhams (Kwakwaka’wakw), Thomas Whonnock (Namgis/Kwakwaka’wakw), Barbara Williams (Ditidaht/Nuu-chah-nulth), Ian Willie (Kwakwaka’wakw), Chris Wilson (Haisla) and TJ Young (Haida).

We welcome you to come and meet the artists, enjoy some refreshments, and peruse the beautiful artwork on May 15th. The opening will run from 4pm to 7pm, and much of the jewellery presented will be available for purchase. If you are unable to make it to the opening, the show will run until May 29, 2010. This is your chance to take part in the future of Northwest Coast Native jewellery!
